Emy Silletta
Occupational Therapist - James Bay
Areas of Expertise:
Pediatrics, concussion, return-to-work
Programs: Pediatrics, concussion, WSBC
Emy completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Victoria in 2011, with plans to enter a career in education. When she began working in schools, however, she soon realised that she was more suited to a profession that allowed for personal, one-on-one interactions. She then met several Occupational Therapists who couldn’t stop talking about how much they loved their jobs, and the rest is history!
Emy graduated from her Occupational Therapy Masters program at UBC in 2017 and moved to New York City, where she began her OT practice doing paediatric early intervention. Working with preschool-aged children in their homes, she collaborated with families to create play-based treatment plans focused on helping kids reach their developmental milestones. She also worked in the public school system, providing one-on-one and small group support to children and teenagers with various developmental and physical abilities, with an aim to foster both academic and social classroom participation.
One of her favourite things is empowering people of all ages to incorporate support strategies into their daily routines in order to promote meaningful living.Born and raised on the west coast of BC, Emy is grateful to once again call Victoria home. She is also thrilled to continue honing her professional skills at Tall Tree.
When she’s not in the office, she’ll likely be exploring the great outdoors with her husband and young son, or reading on the couch with a cup of tea.
