Matt Boudreau

Physiotherapist - Vancouver

Areas of Expertise:

Shoulders, athletes, post-op, low back pain, knees, neck, osteoarthritis, dry needling/IMS

Matt began his physiotherapy journey as a junior hockey player while rehabilitating injuries. It was then that he learned first-hand the effects of exercise as medicine. Once he finished playing competitive hockey, Matt completed his bachelors degree in Human Kinetics and became a Kinesiologist. He gained experience tailoring exercise programs for rehab and performance and was tasked with training other kinesiologists. Matt returned to UBC and graduated with a Masters Degree in Physiotherapy in 2014.

Matt is passionate about continued learning. He has taken many different courses covering manual therapy and exercise prescription and is certified in Intra-muscular Stimulation (dry needling). He has also worked as a clinical skills assistant with the UBC Masters of Physiotherapy program, feeding his passion for knowledge translation with students of the program. His clinical experience is diverse. Matt has worked with athletes of all levels in many different sports, from ice hockey goaltenders to overhead athletes including baseball players and cross-fitters. He also has lots of experience with geriatric populations, including individuals with osteoarthritis and post-op total knee and hip replacement.

Matt values collaboration and evidence-based care, which lead him to join the Tall Tree team. In Matt, patients can expect a therapist who values connecting with his patients. He believes every individual’s path is different, and uses tools such as manual therapy, education, and exercise to help them achieve their goals. When he is not in the clinic, Matt loves staying active by running and lifting weights. He also loves music, watching football, and camping. His favourite thing, however, is being a husband, and a father to his 2 young daughters.
