Areas of Expertise:

Sciatica, Headaches, Prenatal, Shoulders, Anxiety, Neck pain

Chantelle's interest in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) sparked while she was doing her Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology at Trinity Western University. Working as the student trainer for the women's volleyball team, she completed many clinical hours at the campus sport and rehabilitation clinic. During these hours Chantelle observed how restful Acupuncture and TCM was, especially for difficult cases and cases where emotional components were high. What was most intriguing was it's ability to treat internal concerns as well as musculoskeletal. In her senior year she chose Acupuncture and TCM as a topic for a final research paper. After conducting very thorough research on TCM and its history, Chantelle was sold on pursuing it after graduation.

Finishing her Bachelor of Human Kinetics in Kinesiology in 2006, Chantelle moved back to her home on the peninsula and began her work in allied health care. She joined the BC Association of Kinesiologists and began working in active rehabilitation on the peninsula where she would continue for the next 12 years and also where she would eventually join Tall Tree. She found mentors in long time TCM professionals Jeff Jones and Mikiala Christie and in 2008 enrolled in The Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria.

While in Acupuncture school, Chantelle continued to work as a kinesiologist and certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She graduated with a Diploma in Traditonal Chinese Medicine in in 2011. In the two years that followed, Chantelle did some travelling with her husband, continued her work in Kinesiology and then in 2013, her daughter was born. After a bit of time off, Chantelle became a member of the College of Traditonal Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of BC and began her Acupuncture practice.

For the last 5 years, Chantelle has had a fulfilling practice on the peninsula. Leaning on her kinesiology background, Chantelle has a lot of success with treating pain and improving functioning in musculoskeletal cases. She can personally relate to her peer group when treating pre natal cases and womens health. Chantelle's approach is to be very candid with and build a rapport where patients feel comfortable. Other health concerns that Chantelle treats are headaches, anxiety and depression, PTSD, insomnia, and stress.

After the birth of her twin boys in 2017, Chantelle rejoined the amazing team at Tall Tree as an Acupuncturist, putting kinesiology on pause for now. She is thrilled to be working alongside experienced and successful Lucy Mei Lee. When not in the clinic, Chantelle can be found chasing after her children, hiking, skiing and kickboxing. Recently, she's taken up Irish dancing with her daughter.
