Alex Piller

Registered Kinesiologist - Vancouver

Alex (she/her/hers) first realized the benefits of physical activity while she was in high school. After volleyball season ended and she was no longer playing sports, she quickly realized that she felt better both physically and mentally when she was physically active. She soon found CrossFit, and after graduating high school she went on to coach at a CrossFit gym for over 8 years.

During that time, she competed on a team at the CrossFit Canada West Regionals in 2010, 2011, and 2012, winning two gold medals, and went on to compete with the team at the CrossFit Games in 2010 and 2012. Alex has since "retired" from competing in CrossFit, but she will always credit the experience for igniting her passion for exercise!Outside of the gym, Alex completed her undergraduate degree in kinesiology at the University of Victoria in 2011.

She began working as a kinesiologist in an interdisciplinary rehab setting in January 2012. Since graduation, she has advanced her clinical skills through continued education in the treatment of persistent pain, functional exercise, and clinical best practice. She specializes in helping people return to work and activity following injury, and enjoys creating exercise programs designed specifically for each client’s individual needs and goals. Alex loves to witness firsthand as her clients reach their goals in the gym and how that translates to real life empowerment.

During her free time, Alex enjoys doing active things outdoors and can be found exploring Vancouver with her partner and their two-year-old son.
