"How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” Annie Dillard.

After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Concordia University, Freddy went on to complete his Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at McGill University. Since then, Freddy has worked in both public and private health settings with a strong interest in community-based Occupational Therapy practice.

Freddy’s approach is relational and involves getting to know the strengths and needs of the individual within their community. He recognizes that culture, values, beliefs and behaviours are key to understanding how people ‘tick.’ This was first informed by his work on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, where an appreciation for the uniqueness of a community and its people was foundational to providing care.

Freddy has experience in functional assessment, vocational assessment, vocational/educational rehabilitation, psychosocial rehabilitation, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance use, behavioural addictions, chronic pain, anxiety and mood disorders, psychotic disorders and return to occupation following musculoskeletal injury.

Combining his art and OT background, Freddy is driven to identify creative approaches to care that compliment the innovative team of professionals at Tall Tree. He returned from Montréal to the west coast to enjoy a slower pace and outdoor activity. However, this geographical change has not impacted the amount of time or extent to which he gets ‘hyped’ about music, art, and cultural events.
